Floe

$2000

Art work that is completely abstract—free from any expression of the environment is like music and can be responded to in the same way. Our response to line and tone and color is the same as our response to sounds. And like music abstract art is thematic. It holds meaning for us that is beyond expressions in words." —Agnes Martin

Floe is an ode to living matter, organic, imperfect. A word play between Floe /Flow primarily inspired by the harmonic progression that simply repeats over and over again in the song ‘“Floe” by Philip Glass (Glassworks, 1982). Although rhythmically driven, the melodic implications of "Floe" occur somewhat coincidentally by orchestration.
